Daily Journal 2022
Not much traveling was done this year. We did not get together with Josh & Karen and our grandchildren for Christmas because Jim's eye from his retinal detachment was still healing and we did not want to travel. We decided to go in January to Houston to visit with Josh, Karen and the grandkids for Josh's birthday on January 18 before heading back to Tres Rios. However, before we got there, we learned that Karen's sister-in-law's mother passed away and they were going to fly to North Carolina for the funeral. We ended up going to the Thousand Trails in Columbus, Texas while they were in North Carolina and then went to their house when they returned. We stayed for a week and then headed back to Tres Rios in Glen Rose, Texas, for the rest of the summer.
Our travels actually did not start until October when we went to Houston again for Juliella's birthday on October 13, and then we started heading east again so we would be in Florida for Thanksgiving at Jacklyn & Sean's house. Their wedding is scheduled for December 18, 2022. We stayed in Florida for three months before heading north.
We stopped at Cajun Palms RV Park in Louisiana. We stay way in the back at this park and there is a trail that Lucy and I take. I discovered the Prehistoric Park this time and we took a long walk around it to see all of the prehistoric animals. Still heading east, we stopped at an OCP park in Louisiana, and visited the Infinity Science Center and Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum.
While at another OCP park in Alabama, we visited the Indian & Sea Museum and Uncle Sandy's Macaw Bird Park. We finally made it to Florida right before Thanksgiving and pulled into Jacklyn & Sean's side yard, where Sean had put 30amp hookups for us. Jacklyn had made reservations for ICE ~~ How the Grinch Sole Christmas in Kissimmee. It took us about 3 hours to drive up there from their house and we had to dress up on our warmest winter clothes as it was below zero in the show. The last post of this year was Jacklyn & Sean's wedding on December 18, 2022.
My blog post of our travels for this year is a combination of 2022 and 2023.
