We spend a lot of time in Florida and will probably be traveling back there a lot as our daughter lives in the Tampa area and we have friends who live on the east coast.  We also lived in Florida for about 8 years until December of 1985, at which time we moved to Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Grayton Beach State Park ~~ January 2010

After our time at Amazon ended at the end of 2012, we went to Georgia and then headed back to Texas for a couple of months. We headed out again toward Florida in February 2013 as we wanted to attend the Tin Can Tourists rally at the end of February held at Florida Sand Music Ranch before heading north to Tennessee and another workamping position in Tennessee.

After finishing up our workamping with Amazon in Campbellsville, Kentucky in December 2013, we headed south to Georgia, and then into Florida to meet up with Bill & Julie Mars at Crystal River RV Park. From there we headed back north to Sunset Isle RV Park and then north and west, stopping at Styx River RV Park in Robertsdale, Alabama.

We ended up back in Florida in August 2015 when our daughter called to tell us that she had ovarian cancer and needed us to come help her. We were in Ruskin, Florida at River Oaks from August to November 2015, and then in Sebastian for a little while.

We went back to Florida in 2019 for Lisa & Justin's wedding and the 100th Anniversary Rally of the Tin Can Tourists. Posts for both of these events are listed below. I took the above picture of the Atlantic Ocean when we visited during the winter of 2015. We ended up at the Escapees SKP RV Park in Wauchula, Bee's RV Park in Clermont, and then E.G. Simmons County Park in Ruskin.

Our next trip east was in 2021. We were coming for a Tin Can Tourists rally but they ended up cancelling the rally, but we came anyway because we were going to get together with Bill & Julie and some other friends at the Sertoma Youth Ranch for the week. As an addition to our trip, we were able to meet Jacklyn's new beau, Sean Peters, who she met last year. While at the Sertoma Youth Ranch, we took a side trip to Boyette's Farm. We did spend two weeks at the Orlando Thousand Trails, two weeks in Ruskin and then three weeks in Sebastian behind Bill & Julie's house.

Boyette's Farm (Brooksville) ~~ February 23, 2021

We headed east again because our daughter got married in December 2022, and that required us to be in Florida. We headed out from Texas on October 5 and took our time getting here. We will be in Florida until the end of February. I found a real nice campground where we stayed for the month of December called River Vista in Ruskin.

It's been three years since we have been to Florida, and it was time to come again as we have a new grandson to meet. On January 2, 2026, we headed east again. We arrived at Sun Lake RV Park in Ruskin on January 20 for one month before heading to another Tin Can Tourists Rally at the Robinson Ranch in Dunnellon. We also stayed at Southern Palms in Eustis, an Encore Resort, which is part of the Thousand Trails system. We will also be staying at the Orland Thousand Trails and then back to Ruskin to E.G. Simmons County Park.
