Our first trip to Nevada was a stop in Las Vegas to visit with John & Rebecca Matsis, who we have known for about 40 years.  It's amazing how long we have known some people - many since our college days at Kent State in the 1970's.  John & Rebecca moved from Atlanta, Georgia to Las Vegas in 1999, leaving the rest of the Kent folks in the Atlanta area.  The above picture was taken at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area outside of Las Vegas.  We did not stay long, it was just a quick drive through, but I got some pictures. The above picture is from Red Rock Canyon.

So far we have seen the Hoover Dam and a few sights in downtown Las Vegas, which are posted in my blog, and highlighted here.

Las Vegas is not really our cup of tea.  Lots of glamour and lights, casinos all over the place, and a lot of night life.  We will not be staying long in the state, but will have to return to visit the northern part of the state.
