NORTHEAST ZONE
During 2019 we had some commitments in Florida, so we decided to head north from there up to Maine. We stayed at quite a few Thousand Trails along the way.
Maine
Moody Beach, Wells
FHU sites with the utilities next to the road and you pull through parallel to the road, so you are facing the people from the next road. Not too close; there are a lot of trees all over. The water quality is good; electric good. They offer cable but it costs $$. Got about 20+ OTA antenna stations. The park has no walking trails or dog park, so you just walk around the park. I found a trail at the back of the park that leads to a subdivision where I was able to walk around and back. They have an adult center, game room, laundry room, and pool.
Massachusetts
Sturbridge, Sturbridge
Very crowded with quite a few annuals. We ended up with a corner site which is fine with us. Had to park along the front of RV, which was tight. FHU sites; back in and pull through. W/E around the lake. The electric is good; water quality good. Verizon coverage very poor. Jetpack gets 4G but phone is showing 1x and sometimes 4G. They have cable at the sites (no charge) but charge for use of their WiFi. Large lake for fishing and swimming; trails through the woods; playground; pool; hot tub; beach. Mini Golf course is bad shape. Springfield Armory NHS. I-90 into Boston was always crowded so did not venture there.
New York
Rondout Valley, Accord
FHU sites as well as W/E. The water quality is OK, has a smell to it; the electric OK. Lots of wet sites as a huge rainstorm just passed through. There is a trail through the woods. Lots of activities for the kids and family. Verizon coverage is good. No cable (even tho website says cable; it went out and they have not gotten it back) and no OTA TV stations.
Pennsylvania
Circle M, Lancaster
This place is pretty crowded with the FHU sites all around each other. It is surrounded by the Conestoga River so there is not much land around for trails. We took a site along the main road and there is not a lot of room for the truck. WiFi is sketchy, have to pay for cable but got the best OTA stations with antenna toward Harrisburg. The water quality is good; electric good. Lots of activities such as pool, basketball, etc. There are sites along the river, but they are just W/E. There is a large ball field down near the river to let the dogs loose to get some exercise. There is a trail along the river.
Robin Hill, Lenhartsville, PA
Robin Hill is actually an Encore Resort, which we stayed at through the Trails Collection. Pretty much a park for annuals, about 90%. There are a few open sites for passers through. Our site was weird to figure out; we parked the trailer on the grass with our site itself gravel. Big enough for the truck as well. Our section was up a huge hill but level on top. FHU site; water quality is good; electric good. Verizon coverage is OK and the park offers cable, which is nice. Pretty big park with a couple of playgrounds, swimming pool, activity center. Have not found a place to let the dogs loose though; there are lots of farms in the area.
