Workamping
We joined Workamper about two years before we decided to hit the road. We learned about the organization from a friend who had work camped for a while before he actually retired. There are lots and lots of people living the RV lifestyle that need to work on the road. It is interesting to find out that there are many other people in our shoes.
Also, it is good to know that there is a company specifically set up to match RVers with jobs. Workamper News knows RVers and their needs, and the employers that advertise with them also know RVers. So there is no need to explain to an employer that we would be temporary, or to explain why our home address is out of state, or to explain our entire educational and work history.
What is the number-one advantage of the Workamper lifestyle?
Freedom of Place—that is being able to go wherever you want and stay as long as you want because of your Workamper income and perks.
For instance, it takes months to fully explore places like Yellowstone Park, yet due to the high cost of living and campground stay limits, the average visit lasts only a few days. Workampers who spend the entire summer in Yellowstone leave knowing the park as well as the locals! Freedom of Place also means warm winters, cool summers, time with the grandkids, time away from the grandkids and a million other enticing benefits!

Evaluating a Workamping Opportunity
Signing up for Workamper:
After reading all of this information, are ready to join Workamper? Great, let's get started.
When you go onto the Workamper website, you will be on the main page. Right there in the middle you will see "Register your account today and begin your Workamping adventure!" Next to that "Click Here to Get Started." After clicking there, you will be taken to another page with two sections: "Become a Workamper" or "Become an Employer." Of course, you will click on "Become a Workamper." This will take you to another page where you register to become a Workamper.
Next is checkout. We would ask that you think of us by inserting the code "Kerch137977" into the section marked "Promo Code" on the page where you insert your address and payment information. As Workamper Concierge we are compensated when people join and use our code.
After registering and logging in, go to the "Dashboard" area of Workamper. You can reach this by looking near the top right of the page and clicking on "Dashboard." There is a lot of information on this board; this is where you go for everything happening in Workamper.
The first thing you need to do is build your resume, which you do under the Resume Builder heading. This is where employers go to review your resume and the information you provide will give them an idea of your skills and qualifications.
If you email your online Awesome Applicants Resume via the email function in the Resume Builder tool, please follow up with the Employer within a day or two by sending an email from your personal email, give them a call, or use another point of contact they provided -- to check in and ensure they received your emailed resume.
The situation is that some Employers' email providers are putting our emails into spam/junk or blocking them entirely. This includes emailed resumes since the resume comes from [email protected]. Employers who have a unique domain, like @mycampground.com, are more prone to blocking emails than others.
This is just the nature of the internet-beast. We are a business. We send a lot of emails on a daily basis (daily Hotline). And despite our very high email reputation, our emails will get blocked sometimes. We've looked into it; we've talked with our email system provider. There's not really anything else we can do from a technical standpoint. We are looking on more ways to "jump up and down" in front of Employers waiving our arms and reminding them to check their spam folders.
We don't want you to miss out on any opportunities. So here are two workarounds you can use if you feel that maybe an Employer you are applying with is not getting your resume:
(1) You can use the button on the Home section of the Resume Builder to make your resume into a PDF file. Then you can send the Employer an email from your personal email and attach the PDF file of your resume.
(2) A second option is to email your resume to yourself via the Resume Builder, and then forward your resume from your personal email address to an Employer you want to apply with.
Email providers (especially the free ones) are constantly doing updates, so even if you have received Workamper News emails before, that doesn't mean that one day in the future - poof! - the Hotline stops flowing in. To help keep this from happening, here's info on how you can whitelist ours (or any other) email sender: www.workamper.com/whitelist.
The Board is also where you can view Hotline Jobs and the Online Magazine. We recommend you download the Member Manual and also look to see when a Workamper Rendezvous will be held and signing up for one.
We hope that you will consider joining the Workamper family and start making some extra money along with learning about the area you are working in. Please drop us a line and let us know how you are doing and where you are working. We enjoy hearing from everyone!
