It is now time to take a look at what types of jobs an RVer might expect to find on the road.
The most advertised positions in Workamper News are with private campgrounds and RV parks. Typically, the duties for couples involve office assistance/reservations, cleaning, and general maintenance or landscaping (meaning grass cutting, weedeating, etc.) If you are willing to clean bathrooms and/or do maintenance, you will always be able to find work on the road. Here are some examples of the jobs you might find in Workamper News:
Campgrounds & RV Parks
*Reservations/Office (take reservations, greet customers, provide information to customers, accept payments, complete paperwork, work the cash register, etc.)
*Maintenance (usually minor repairs and projects related to campsites, office, bathhouses, and campground appearance)
*Landscaping (grass cutting, weedeating, weeding, planting, gardening, etc.)
*Cleaning (bathhouses, bathrooms, cabins, rental units, etc.)
*Activities director
*Campground Host (ranges from checking in guests, keeping records, and ensuring all guests are taken care of to just being there in case of emergency)
*Sales (ranges from commissioned sales of campground memberships to local promotions to retail sales in campground store)
There are three basic reservation programs that are used by campgrounds: Campground Master (www.campgroundmaster.com); Campground Manager (www.campgroundmanager.com); and ROS 2006 (www.digitalrez.com).

There is also the US Army Corps of Engineers who uses volunteers to help in their parks. Duties vary, but generally include greeting visitors, collecting fees, using a computer, checking campers in, performing inspections, providing surveillance, opening and closing the gate, and maintaining quiet hours. The Corps usually provides a campsite with water, electric and sewer hookups.
