We workamped in Townsend, Tennessee during the summer of 2013.  We really liked Townsend ~ it is called the "Quiet Side of the Smokies."  We drove into Gatlinburg and the Dollywood area on a weekday when it should not have been very crowded, but it was so crowded that we decided it was not for us, and we stayed away the rest of the summer.  We did some sightseeing in the area, including Great Smoky Mountains National Park (pictures in the National Park section), Fontana Dam and Dragon of the Tail. I think Tail of the Dragon drops down into North Carolina.

Tail of the Dragon ~~ April 9, 2013
National Bird Dog Museum ~~ Sept. 15, 2019

We made another trip east in 2021, first to Florida then up to Georgia, North Carolina, and then we began our trek west, first stop Crossville, Tennessee.

Cumberland Homesteads & Tower Museum ~~ May 22, 2021
Military Memorial Museum ~~ May 24, 2021
