We spent a couple weeks in southern Idaho on our way back to Texas after visiting other states in the northwest. Idaho has some remarkable scenery and waterfalls, with waterfalls coming straight out of the moutainside and other falls, such as Shoshone Falls in the above picture. There was Malad Gorge where the Snake River formed a huge gorge; Ritter Island, which was a park run by the county because of the springs that just blew out of the side of the mountain; balanced rock, a strange outcrop of rock that was very beautiful. Shoshone Falls was in Twin City and cascades 212 feet down from the rim of the canyon. The falls are actually slightly taller than Niagara Falls.
