Another state on our trip during the summer of 2023 was Iowa. We almost did not get to Iowa because we had actually made plans to head to North Dakota after our stay in Minnesota. However, due to unforeseen circumstances (we had to put a new engine in the Excursion in Minneapolis) we had to stay so long in Minneapolis that we headed south toward Texas. We stayed in a campground near Des Moines, and did find one museum to visit. We stayed at a county park after leaving Des Moines and on our morning walk, there was a lovely garden area that we walked by.
